Stories help us make sense of the world. Creativity helps us express who we are. Together, they shape the culture that connects us.
We believe the people, stories and organisations that enrich our cultural life deserve to be understood, trusted and recognised. That's why The Public Good exists. Our name reflects our belief that great creative work enriches society far beyond those who create it. When exceptional work is experienced and celebrated, it deepens our understanding of one another and enriches our cultural life.
We partner with creators and the organisations that support them to build understanding, shape reputation and connect exceptional creative work with the audiences, stakeholders and opportunities that matter most.
Whether launching a feature film, guiding a documentary through sensitive public conversations, supporting an industry organisation, managing a reputation, or amplifying an artist's work, we bring strategic communications, publicity and trusted counsel to every partnership.
We are guided by five principles:
Champion excellence: We believe exceptional work deserves exceptional advocacy.
Lead with integrity: Trust is earned through honesty, transparency and sound judgement.
Build meaningful relationships: The best work is collaborative, generous and long-lasting.
Think strategically: Every communication should serve a purpose.
Serve the public good: We believe creativity enriches society, and we're proud to help it flourish.

Every partnership is built on trust, shared purpose and a belief in the value of creativity. The principles below reflect how we work to honour those commitments.
Great work depends on healthy, sustainable ways of working. Protecting time for rest, family and life outside work enables us to bring our best thinking, creativity and judgement to our clients.
WORK HOURS: We believe healthy boundaries lead to better work. While publicity often requires flexibility around media opportunities, production schedules and events, our standard office hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am-6.00pm. Outside those times, unless a matter is genuinely requires immediate attention, we ask that you respect our team's personal time.
EMAILS: We value thoughtful communication over constant communication. To minimise interruptions and create space for focused work, we generally check and respond to emails three times each weekday. Emails received outside business hours will generally be attended to on the next working day. If you have a genuinely urgent query or need to talk outside of work hours, you can text or call Tamar directly (see Contact page).
MEETINGS: We value everyone's time. Meetings should have a clear purpose, a defined agenda and a desired outcome.
TIMELINES: The best publicity campaigns are built with time. We recommend a minimum lead time of two months, with three months or more providing the greatest opportunity to develop a thoughtful and effective campaign. If your timeframe is shorter, we'll always advise you on the best approach. Please note that urgent work requiring immediate turnaround may be subject to a higher rate.
